I filed a BBB complaint because Sony PlayStation suspended my account and is holding it hostage unless I pay them a certain amount of money. I had a Visa gift card on file a couple of years ago and because I didn't know it is set to auto-renewal by default, apparently, there was a chargeback on a gift card.

Because it landed in my spam folder, I didn't know it even happened. I haven't turned my PlayStation on in over a year and couldn't even play the game I wanted because Sony blocked access to my digital purchases. This was unbelievable to me and this company needs to be sued for these shakedowns. I spoke to a representative named Matt today, on July 18th, 2024, who cut me off and acted like a mob boss or pimp for Sony.

He said there were only two ways to gain access to my games - pay the chargeback fee or have your bank reverse it. I asked how am I supposed to have a bank reverse it when it was a Visa gift card with only a couple of bucks on it. How would something like this even go through with not enough funds on a gift card, and how am I supposed to get a hold of anyone at Visa with no access to the gift card anymore. Matt ended up hanging up on me and was so rude to me.

I forgot I was even talking to the company, Sony! Who hires these rude, hateful people with a grudge on their shoulder? All the evidence is there, but all Sony wants is money to give me access to purchases made with hard-earned money. They are thieves and I will never buy another Sony product as long as I'm alive.

At 50 some years old, I never had such a disappointing experience with a company. There should be a class-action lawsuit filed against Sony for horrendous business practices. I tried calling Matt back and demanding that he call me back, but instead, Sony sent a threat against me stating that I breached a Code of Conduct with a representative. Am I mad he hung up on me and cut me off?

I payed $10 for a online id change, after I tried to use some names that werent allowed, I chose a name that met the ps5 requirements, and it wasnt harmful at all, my name was allowed and I was told thank you for your purchase. Then after a week and a half I logged in to my ps5 to play games with my friends and it said I have been suspended from social features (including all of the YouTube app, and no game chat or party chat for 30 days) I was surprised because my online id had been changed too, without a warning, the $10 I had just payed a week before had been stolen from Sony without warning, now my online id is just some computer made name with a bunch of numbers and thats not how I want to be shown to my friends online, it is unfair for a company this big to be able to take from their customers without warning.

After being banned from a game hosted on the PlayStation platform for no apparent reason, I contacted PlayStation customer service and was laughed at, mocked, then dismissed via email.

To put it into perspective, I spend around £7000 a year gaming on PlayStation, and I spent roughly £1500 on just the game from which I was banned in just 3 months. You can imagine how foolish I feel now, having invested so much into my experience only to be kicked to the curb.

Quite a wake-up call, indeed.

Avoid this and opt for Xbox instead; the PS console hardware is only slightly better, but because most of the gaming community resides on Xbox, the software on Xbox is years ahead. Given that PlayStation shows little interest in retaining its customers, you would be wise to spend your money with a company that's more consumer-focused.

Defending the users on my team from racism & hate I told the individuals I was broadcasting so they would stop, The guy even sent a message ( prove it ) , that should be enough for admission that they said it . Even sent him a screen shot of the list of people who enaged in this behavior.

Was surprised when they said it was me who said whatever policy I broke ,think they did cause I told them I was broadcasting, You should use it against the users who did this. Red team below only 2 had mics , guy on my team sent applauding message cause I started speaking up didn't have mic for entire game was off till end this group red team are racist individuals who speak Nothing but hate in there language ( no place for it in gaming ) also part 2 is coming, had been in touch with lawyers in order to speak bout this very alarming concerning material that everyone should be aware of.
